Exploring nautical and pirate themes in the context of Lanvin’s history. This collection explores femininity through three lenses: femininity concealed through masculinity, Hegemonic masculinity (when the dominant, culturally ideal form of masculinity that legitimizes a patriarchal social order and the subordination of women), & female masculinity (women can express masculine traits by concealing/downplaying their femininity). Through exploring these themes, the collection creates a world of a female-led crew conquering a male-led world.
This collection was heavily inspired by Alber Elbaz’s creative direction at the house.
